There’s something surreal about watching a house slowly become your home.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been deep in it—painting walls, laying flooring, making design choices, and honestly… just figuring it out as we go. If you’ve ever gone through this process, you already know—it’s equal parts exciting and overwhelming.
One day you’re standing in a room full of possibilities, and the next you’re covered in paint wondering why you chose that color in the first place.
But then… something shifts.
For us, it was the master bedroom flooring going in. That moment when the space stopped feeling like a project and started feeling like ours. Like this is where life is going to happen. Where we’ll rest after long days, where mornings will begin, where memories will quietly build over time.
And then there are the kids’ rooms.
Painting my youngest son’s room—blue and yellow for his Hot Wheels theme—was one of those moments I don’t think I’ll ever forget. It wasn’t just about paint on walls. It was about creating a space that feels like him. A space where he can grow, play, and just be a kid.
That’s what this whole process has been about.
Not perfection. Not rushing to the finish line.
But building something meaningful, one decision at a time.
We’ve had moments where things didn’t go as planned. Where timelines felt slow. Where it would’ve been easier to just throw in the towel for the day. But we kept showing up anyway—because this isn’t just a house we’re working on.
This is our fresh start.
And if I’m being honest, I’ve been holding a lot of this close. Not sharing everything all at once. Just letting us live in it first before putting it out into the world.
But now… it feels right to start opening that door a little more.
To bring you along for the process.
The real, unfiltered version of what it looks like to build a home and a life at the same time.
Because it’s not always pretty—but it’s always worth it.
Stay tuned for a Vlog this week on Friday
